Pediatric University participated in the webinar «Current problems of breastfeeding»
The international webinar was held on August 7. Specialists of the Pediatric University raised important issues related to lactation.
The early stages of forming a child's attachment to the mother, the role of breastfeeding, practical recommendations on nutrition for a woman from the beginning to the end of lactation, the duration of breastfeeding — all these topics were considered by specialists of SPbSPMU during the webinar.
Pediatricians, therapists, general practitioners and gastroenterologists took part in the event.
World Breastfeeding Week is held on the initiative of World Health Organization from 1 to 7 August in more than 170 countries. The goal of the week is to remind that breastfeeding is the best way to provide newborns with the necessary nutrients.
The theme of World Breastfeeding Week in 2020 is «Support breastfeeding and make the planet healthier». WHO and UNICEF urge governments to make efforts to make more accessible qualified advice on lactation-related issues.
